Help regarding spirometry issues

Hello everyone,

I think it would be useful if we had a thread where we could share the problems we encounter in our daily practice regarding spirometry.

I could use some help but I don't know if this is the right place to write down whatever puzzles us and if it is accessible by the teaching stuff apart from our collegues in training.

My problem at the time being is that something is going on with the FIVC in my last spirometry tests, it cannot be 2900% of predicted in every patient I perform spirometry.

SPIROMETRY TEST

What I did the last few days:

1) I performed calibration, I used a pre-owned syringe I got a few days ago. This was the first time I calibrated my spirometer.

2) I got an update on the software

3) I switched from ERS/Knudsson to GLI reference values.

Any ideas what to do or what it might be wrong?

I performed a second calibration, nothing changed.

I tried a lot of things and eventually it was fixed by itself.
I replaced the turbine from reusable to a disposable one and noticed it worked ok. Then, I used the reusable turbine again and it was all ok too.
So, sorry to bother you, everything is ok now.
